Telnyx is a communications platform that runs SMS and fax over its own private global network. In Clinicmaster it serves two jobs: an alternative carrier for patient text messaging, and the transport for outbound clinical faxes — referral letters, reports and forms sent straight from the chart.
The Telnyx integration
Telnyx is a communications platform providing SMS and fax over a privately-owned global network. Clinicmaster can select Telnyx as the carrier for patient text messaging, and uses it to send outbound faxes generated from the chart — each fax submitted with the document, a send quality and a webhook that reports the delivery outcome back to Clinicmaster.

One provider covering the two channels clinics still depend on most: text to reach patients, and fax to reach everyone else in healthcare.
Patient SMS on a private network
Telnyx can be the carrier behind appointment reminders, campaign batches and case-workflow texts — the same Clinicmaster templates and scheduling, routed over Telnyx instead of another provider.
Send faxes from the chart
Documents produced in Clinicmaster — referral letters, clinical reports, completed forms — are faxed out through Telnyx without printing, re-scanning or leaving the record.
Delivery result webhooks
Every fax is submitted with a webhook address, so Telnyx reports the transmission outcome back to Clinicmaster instead of leaving staff to wonder whether it arrived.
Transmission quality control
Fax send quality is set per transmission, which matters when the receiving end is an older machine and a lower-quality send is more likely to get through.
Retries handled in the background
Sending runs as a background job rather than in the user’s window, so a slow or busy receiving line is retried without holding up whoever pressed send.
Per-clinic credentials, server-side
Telnyx API credentials and the fax connection are configured per clinic and held as secrets — there is no self-serve key entry in the app.

Staff send from where the work already is.
A text goes out on its reminder schedule; a fax is sent from the document in the chart. Both are queued to a background job rather than blocking the user.
The outcome comes back automatically.
Telnyx posts the SMS or fax result to Clinicmaster over a webhook, and the log against the patient shows whether it was delivered or failed.
What this integration does not do
Telnyx here is SMS and fax — it is not the clinic’s phone system. Business calling with caller-ID matching to the patient record is the Nexco VOIP integration, and video telehealth runs on Twilio Video. Inbound fax handling depends on the fax module and the numbers provisioned for your clinic — confirm your setup with us.

Both channels write back to the same communication history, so a referral faxed to a specialist and a reminder texted to a patient are equally traceable months later.
