Twilio · Messaging & telehealth integration
Text patients and run video telehealth on Twilio.
Twilio is the cloud communications platform behind Clinicmaster’s patient SMS and video visits. Appointment reminders and campaigns go out over Twilio messaging, virtual visits run in Twilio Video rooms attached to the appointment, and every delivery and session event comes back into Clinicmaster automatically.
The Twilio integration
Twilio is a cloud communications platform for SMS, voice and video. Clinicmaster uses it as a selectable communication provider: outbound patient text messages and automated reminder calls are dispatched through Twilio, telehealth appointments run in Twilio Video rooms, and Twilio’s status webhooks feed delivery results back onto the patient record. It is licensed per clinic and configured with that clinic’s own Twilio account credentials.
What the Twilio integration does.
Twilio moves the messages and carries the video; Clinicmaster decides who gets contacted, in which language, and writes the outcome back to the record.
Appointment reminders by text
Reminder, confirmation and follow-up texts are dispatched through Twilio on the schedule each clinic configures — in the patient’s language, from the clinic’s own sending number.
Campaigns and case messaging
The same Twilio channel carries communication batches, client-case workflow messages and reactivation campaigns, so patient outreach uses one provider and one log.
Video telehealth on Twilio Video
Telehealth appointments create a Twilio Video room tied to the booking. Participants, tracks and room duration are reported back, so a virtual visit leaves the same trail as an in-person one.
Patient waiting room
Patients join through a waiting room before the practitioner admits them, so a video visit starts when the clinician is ready rather than the moment the link is opened.
Delivery status webhooks
Twilio posts message and call status back to Clinicmaster over inbound webhooks — sent, delivered, failed — so the communication log reflects what actually reached the patient.
Automated reminder calls
For patients who prefer the phone, Clinicmaster can place an automated Twilio voice call that plays the reminder and collects a keypad response.
From scheduled message to logged outcome.
Your Twilio account is connected to your clinic.
We license the messaging module and configure your clinic’s Twilio credentials server-side — account SID, auth token and video signing key are held as secrets, never entered by end users.
Clinicmaster dispatches the message or opens the room.
Reminders, campaign batches and case messages leave through Twilio with the right template and language. Telehealth appointments create a Twilio Video room attached to the booking.
The result lands back on the record.
Twilio’s webhooks return delivery status, call status and room/participant events. Clinicmaster writes them to the communication log and the telehealth session report.
What this integration does not do
Twilio here covers patient messaging and video telehealth — not your clinic’s phone system. For business calling with caller-ID matching to the patient record, see the Nexco VOIP integration. Patients also cannot reply with keywords like “Reply Y to confirm”: confirming or rescheduling is done through a one-tap secure link in the message.
What Clinicmaster records for every Twilio message and visit.
Messages and video visits are not fire-and-forget. Each one is written to the patient’s communication history with its provider, template, language and final delivery state, and telehealth sessions add a participant-level session report.
