WCB Alberta · Billing integration

Return-to-work programs, synced with WCB Alberta end to end.

Alberta return-to-work care is a managed program, not a series of visits: WCB sends referrals, expects assessments and outcome forms, and tracks progress. Clinicmaster syncs with WCB’s provider API so referrals arrive as work, outcome forms are captured against the case, and invoicing is tracked alongside.

What Is

The WCB Alberta integration

WCB Alberta administers workers’ compensation in Alberta, and its return-to-work stream runs through a provider API. Clinicmaster connects to it to synchronise referrals, assessments and programs, so work WCB sends arrives in the clinic as something actionable. The outcome forms and functional scales WCB expects are captured against the case, and invoice-sent status is tracked with them.

What it does

What the WCB Alberta integration does.

Return-to-work is a program with obligations at each stage. Syncing with WCB directly means those obligations show up as work rather than as surprises.

Referrals synced from WCB

Referrals come from WCB’s provider API into Clinicmaster, so new return-to-work work appears as something to schedule rather than arriving by fax or portal check.

Assessments and programs kept in step

Assessment and program information is synchronised with WCB, so what the clinic is working on matches what WCB has on file.

Outcome forms captured on the case

The outcome forms and functional scales WCB expects are captured against the case as structured records, not as loose attachments.

Invoice-sent tracking

Which invoices have gone to WCB is tracked, so billing status is visible per case instead of being reconstructed at month end.

Booking prospects for groups

For multi-location groups, referral work surfaces as booking prospects, so a referral goes where there is capacity rather than sitting with one site.

Background sync

The synchronisation runs as scheduled background jobs — referrals, assessments, programs and reports each handled on their own — rather than depending on someone pressing refresh.

How it works

From referral to documented outcome.

01 · Receive

WCB sends a referral.

The referral is synced from WCB’s provider API into Clinicmaster and becomes bookable work — including, for groups, a prospect that can be placed where there is capacity.

02 · Deliver

Assessment and program run.

The assessment and the return-to-work program are delivered and kept synchronised with WCB, so both sides hold the same picture of the case.

03 · Report & bill

Outcome forms and invoices are tracked.

The required outcome forms and functional scales are captured on the case, and invoice-sent status is tracked so nothing is silently unbilled.

What this integration does not do

This integration is strongest on program and documentation sync — referrals in, assessments and programs aligned, outcome forms captured, invoice-sent status tracked. It is not a real-time claim-adjudication channel with automatic payment posting; billing status is tracked rather than settled instantly. Program eligibility, fee schedules and required forms are WCB Alberta’s. Provider enrolment and API access are arranged with them.

What syncs and what is captured

What Clinicmaster handles for WCB Alberta.

The administrative load in return-to-work care is the forms and the status. Both are held against the case they belong to.
